If you are reasonably fit, hiking this 3,976 m high volcano is the one thing not to miss in Guatemala. Although the climb is both physically and mentally challenging, it is so worth it: apart from offering breathtaking panoramas of the entire region, Acatenango is best known for giving hikers a view of its roaring and lava spewing neighbor volcano, Fuego.
