Visit the Hot Water Beach and dig a hot pool

Located in Coromandel, New Zealand is a fascinating geological phenomenon known as the Hot Water Beach. Cool, ocean waves crash onto the craggy shore, only to be met with hot water and sand. This rare occurrence is due to thermal springs bubbling up through the sand, seen best during times of low tide. Because of this cool feature, people flock to this beach in order to dig their own spa hot pools to soak in and relax. Do mind that the ocean at this beach is dangerous, even to an experienced swimmer.

Encounter trails lined with famous gigantic Kauri trees of Kaueranga

This trail offers a lot more than just its stunning sights and ethereal beauty, the Kauaeranga Kauri Trail takes the trekker back into the days of Kauri logging. You can see gigantic Kauri stumps signaling where these magnificent trees once stood as you make your way along the trail which once was the packhorse trail used to take supplies up to the loggers. If you continue to trail all the way through it will take you about 2 days and will end with the stunning panoramic views available from the Pinnacles.
